Commissioning Engineer, Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for secondary systems and all Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) associated with SmartValve deployments.

• Create, update, and review commissioning timelines, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs/ITRs), along with safety documentation.

• Design and assess control system integration tailored for project-specific deployments.

• Lead the design, configuration, and customer-attended testing of SCADA systems.

• Carry out on-site commissioning tasks, which include pre-installation inspections, SAT, and both offline and online commissioning activities.

• Deliver training sessions to customers.

• Oversee commissioning spare parts, maintain as-built documentation, and ensure site configuration backups are managed.

• Address Field Issues during project execution and guarantee timely resolution.

• Assist the Project Manager with activities related to project closeout.

• Offer structured remote support to field personnel and customers.

• Contribute to the creation and delivery of training for customer operators.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Dipl.-Ing., or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer with a focus on high-voltage transmission, distribution, or renewable connection substations.

• Proven experience in designing or testing substation control systems, HMIs, and SCADA platforms.

• Knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC 61850 Client/Server, IEC 60870-5-101/104, and/or DNP3.

• Experience with primary plant commissioning and/or protection relay testing is a plus.

• Background in commissioning or supporting FACTS devices is advantageous.
