This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Prepare and coordinate analyses for insurance rating.
• Assist with pricing for individual accounts.
• Conduct portfolio ratemaking analyses.
• Lead projects that have moderate complexity.
• Support pricing for commercial auto and conduct portfolio-level analyses.
• Execute actuarially sound statistical analyses utilizing suitable data sources and assumptions.
• Assess analytical work and make informed pricing decisions and recommendations.
• Document assumptions, methodologies, sources, and considerations thoroughly.
• Generate actuarial findings and documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Engage in peer reviews.
• Collaborate with product management, finance, claims, and other cross-functional teams.
• Stay updated on industry developments, trends, the market landscape, and emerging actuarial methods and tools.
• Offer mentorship and support to junior colleagues.
• Provide ad hoc analytical assistance to various functions.
• Develop and evaluate methodologies for insurance rating and loss reserving.
• ACAS (Associate in Casualty Actuarial Society) is required.
• BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or a related field with over 7 years of post-bachelor experience in statistical and actuarial analysis.
• Alternatively, a graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or a related area with 3 years of experience in statistical and actuarial analysis.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, particularly in client-facing situations.
• Solid understanding of the market landscape.
• Proficient in statistical analysis and programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, and Radar.
• FCAS designation preferred.
• Experience in commercial auto lines insurance actuarial analysis is preferred.
• Background in MGA/Programs pricing, fronting, large deductibles, assumed reinsurance, or other non-standard risk transfer structures is beneficial.
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Proven oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver formal presentations.
• Demonstrated capability in team leadership.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the actuarial industry and insurance marketplace.
• Effective problem-solving skills and teamwork capabilities.
• Ability for pattern recognition and logic-based reasoning.
• Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without any current or future immigration support.
• Completion of five or more actuarial exams is specified in the posting requirements.
