This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Assist in ensuring the integrity of commercial transactions
• Oversee the qualification and engagement of the supply chain
• Propel continuous commercial improvement initiatives at Great British Nuclear (GBE-N)
• Aid in the creation and execution of robust assurance processes to minimize supply chain risks
• Lead the team in monitoring and reporting compliance with regulatory mandates and internal policies, ensuring supply chain activities align with quality and safety standards
• Contribute to Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to industry benchmarks and organizational objectives, collaborating with other ALBs to exchange insights and integrate best practices
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of all supply chain processes and the regular generation of performance reports to enhance visibility into supply chain operations and advancements
• Collaborate with DESNZ, Cabinet Office, HMT, and broader government entities to guarantee that necessary controls are established and an effective governance framework is in place
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to provide best practice advice, guidance, and scrutiny to aid in the development of solid commercial strategies and business cases, engaging with external governance organizations
• Create a stakeholder management and communication plan to keep key stakeholders informed and engaged with project developments
• Foster industry collaboration to enhance standardization and implement a unified assessment methodology
• Assist in the analysis and management of commercial processes, ensuring they align with GBE-N’s strategic goals and operational needs
• Navigate a variety of challenges that necessitate cross-functional collaboration and engagement with external organizations, including industry bodies, to identify opportunities for improvement and implement risk mitigation strategies
• Recognize opportunities for efficiency improvements, applying best practices and innovative solutions to enhance performance and lower costs
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to performance, providing reports to the commercial management team
• Utilize data-driven insights to guide decision-making and foster improvements
• Strong commercial insight, capable of understanding complex issues and challenging senior stakeholders
• Knowledge and experience in public sector procurement, including in-depth working knowledge of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR15) and Procurement Act 2023 (PA23)
• Comprehensive understanding of supply chain management principles, practices, and industry standards, particularly within the nuclear or energy sectors
• Ability to establish and foster productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Proven experience in analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights that facilitate performance enhancement
• Experience in engaging senior stakeholders within a complex delivery environment, with the ability to influence and affect decisions among internal and external stakeholders
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, focused on recognizing issues and implementing innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing for effective presentations to diverse audiences and promoting collaboration across teams
• Experience in spearheading improvement initiatives and managing projects, showcasing a proven ability to drive change
• Knowledge of contracting principles, including NEC, mid-tier, and model services contracts
• Familiarity with commercial management software and tools, along with advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, BI tools)
• Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge & experience
• Membership in the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and/or International Association for Commercial and Contract Management (IACCM) accreditation is desirable.
