This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Identify, assess, and structure commercial loan opportunities, encompassing CRE, term loans, lines of credit, and SBA 7(a)/504 products.
• Conduct initial financial assessments and pre-screening to evaluate creditworthiness and deal feasibility.
• Collaborate with internal departments (underwriting, closing, and administration) to efficiently facilitate the loan process from origination to closing while ensuring thorough and precise documentation.
• Act as the main point of contact for borrowers, credit union partners, and internal stakeholders to provide a smooth lending experience.
• Develop and sustain referral networks (CPAs, brokers, attorneys, etc.) and represent the organization at events to create new business opportunities.
• Inform clients and partners about lending solutions, maintain consistent communication, and foster long-term relationship growth.
• Stay updated on market trends and partner with marketing on focused business development strategies.
• Maintain high standards of responsiveness, professionalism, and service in all interactions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Over 5 years of experience in commercial real estate lending.
• Knowledge of syndication/participation lending is highly preferred.
• Strong grasp of commercial loan products, credit analysis, and underwriting principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to effectively engage borrowers, partners, and internal stakeholders with varying levels of financial expertise.
• Proven track record of relationship building and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to common business objectives.
• Demonstrated organizational and project management capabilities, able to handle multiple deals and deadlines concurrently.
• Robust financial acumen, including the ability to interpret financial statements, evaluate credit risk, and support prudent lending decisions.
• Familiarity with commercial lending markets, including industry trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape.
• Effective sales and negotiation abilities, with the skill to recognize opportunities, design solutions, address objections, and finalize deals.
• Base compensation for this role ranges from $100,000 - $130,000.
• This position is also eligible for the Commercial Lender Incentive Program.
