This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage new business accounts by engaging in outbound interactions with a variety of carriers and brokers.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal sales personnel regarding new business submissions.
• Underwrite habitational risks by assessing and analyzing risk exposures, as well as loss frequency and severity in relation to the desired coverage.
• Build relationships with both external and internal clients, prioritizing the "customer experience" and ensuring exceptional interactions across all communication channels.
• Provide and develop solutions for a diverse range of inquiries from brokers and team members.
• Comply with rating guidelines while ensuring proper documentation of files.
• Utilize our online broker portal to perform tasks and resolve issues.
• Identify areas to enhance underwriting efficiencies.
• Work autonomously within set deadlines while recognizing the importance of communication and coordination with stakeholders.
• Gather and comprehend market intelligence and trends.
• Approach work with a focus on underwriting profitability.
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial property underwriting.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Insurance is essential.
• Familiarity with habitational P&C policies is preferred.
• A Property and Casualty insurance license is preferred (with a preparation period of 6 months allowed).
• A passion for continual learning; professional designations are advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including negotiation skills.
• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a dynamic, evolving organization, with strong organizational skills including time management and prioritization.
• Occasional travel may be necessary for team and broker meetings.
• Enjoy Summer Fridays, leaving at 2:00 PM every Friday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
