Commercial Finance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Executive Directors and senior leadership to enhance financial performance across their portfolios.

• Offer commercial insights and constructive challenges to facilitate strategic decision-making.

• Cultivate trusted relationships with operational leaders and promote financial accountability.

• Oversee the creation and assessment of investment business cases.

• Implement investment appraisal methodologies and establish financial hurdle rates.

• Evaluate and question business case assumptions.

• Aid Finance in securing approval for investment business cases prior to governance endorsement.

• Track post-investment performance through benefits realization reviews.

• Serve as the Finance Business Partner for the Retail portfolio.

• Assess site profitability and commercial performance.

• Assist in investment decisions for new store openings and refurbishments.

• Create portfolio performance metrics, including gross profit, net profit, and ROI.

• Set up monthly performance evaluations for underperforming sites.

• Contribute to turnaround planning and commercial enhancement initiatives.

• Formulate pricing strategies and assess pricing models.

• Support negotiations for commercial contracts.

• Provide financial commercial support for sales activities, bids, and proposals.

• Assess customer profitability and assist in commercial negotiations.

• Develop sales dashboards and commercial KPIs.

• Assist the CFO with treasury management and cash investment strategies.

• Analyze cash flows, investment opportunities, banking arrangements, and investment returns.

• Create financial models, conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and commercial forecasting models.

• Support long-term financial planning initiatives.

• Identify enhancements to profitability and financial sustainability.

• Evaluate commercial performance and analyze returns on investment.

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

• Extensive experience in commercial finance or finance business partnering.

• Proven experience in developing investment business cases.

• Background in supporting commercial decision-making.

• Proficient in pricing and financial modeling.

• Experience in engaging with senior stakeholders.

• Track record of driving improvements in commercial performance.

• Involvement in supporting strategic projects.

• Familiarity with investment appraisal methodologies.

• Knowledge of discounted cash flow and NPV analysis.

• Understanding of pricing strategy, commercial finance, and treasury management.

• Expertise in financial modeling, business partnering, performance management, sales, and commercial finance.

• Knowledgeable in financial planning and forecasting.

• Skills in commercial analysis, investment appraisal, pricing analysis, data analysis, and financial modeling.

• Proficient in presentation, influencing, and supporting commercial negotiations.

• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in the charity or commercial sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
