Commercial Counsel – LATAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Prepare, assess, and negotiate commercial agreements, primarily focused on GTM/Sales transactions in LATAM, including contracts with enterprise customers.

• Collaborate with sales, business development, and operations teams to create and execute strategies that facilitate high-growth go-to-market initiatives.

• Track and analyze evolving legal and regulatory changes specific to the region, including data protection, technology, and AI-related frameworks, and integrate this knowledge into contract drafting and risk evaluation.

• Create, update, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to align with regional requirements and industry best practices.

• Offer clear, practical, and commercially oriented legal guidance to cross-functional teams, customizing advice to promote responsible growth and innovation.

• Assist in scaling the Legal Team's commercial function, nurturing a collaborative and solutions-focused team culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and eligibility to practice law in a pertinent LATAM jurisdiction (preference for Brazil or Mexico).

• Over 7 years of relevant post-qualification legal expertise (in-house experience in technology or SaaS is highly preferred).

• Demonstrated success in drafting and negotiating intricate commercial and technology agreements.

• Strong understanding of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property.

• Experience providing advice on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer matters.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
