This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Evaluate, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements with customers, vendors, and partners.
• Enhance and refine our contracting strategy for government and public sector clients, which includes navigating procurement requirements, regulatory obligations, and government-specific contracting frameworks.
• Assist in partner-led and channel transactions, including negotiating flowdown terms with resellers and other channel partners.
• Respond swiftly to legal inquiries and requests from stakeholders in Sales, Finance, and other departments.
• Stay updated on pertinent laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data privacy, AI regulations, and other emerging requirements that impact enterprise and government contracts.
• Aid in the creation and maintenance of contract templates, playbooks, escalation guides, and other legal team resources; this involves designing and delivering training to enable GTM and cross-functional stakeholders to act more swiftly and independently on routine commercial matters.
• Identify and assist in the development and implementation of enhancements to contracting processes, workflows, and tools with a scalable and forward-thinking approach.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners in Sales, Product, Finance, Security, and Privacy Legal to provide practical, solution-oriented legal support.
• Licensed to practice in the US.
• Over 5 years of in-house experience at a SaaS or rapidly growing tech firm.
• Proven experience in reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts in a fast-paced technology environment, including government and public sector SaaS transactions.
• Eager to engage deeply, learn the business, and proactively identify and assess opportunities and risks.
• Possess a genuine curiosity about the business, the industry, and the challenges at hand, which drives better and more connected legal work.
• Provide timely, practical advice that is aligned with risk, deal structure, and internal policy, and effectively frame guidance in a manner that is actionable for non-legal stakeholders.
• Comfortable participating in cross-functional and internationally distributed teams.
• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a collegial, solutions-focused approach.
• Enthusiastic about the role of AI in legal work and ready to adopt AI tools and workflows to enhance productivity and impact.
• Familiar with or open to learning the fundamentals of how GenAI functions and applying that knowledge to contracting work and enablement.
• Comfortable communicating directly with customers and vendors.
• Capable of prioritizing and effectively managing expectations.
