This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
β’ Take the lead on commercial contract negotiations with clients throughout the APJ region, encompassing SaaS subscription agreements, order forms, amendments, NDAs, vendor agreements, and partner agreements.
β’ Collaborate effectively with Sales, Security, Finance, Product, and other internal teams to offer practical legal guidance that aligns with business goals while managing potential risks.
β’ Assist in the development and expansion of Optroβs legal and compliance operations in the APJ region, which includes formulating regional contracting processes and best practices.
β’ Provide counsel to internal teams regarding relevant APJ privacy and regulatory standards, such as Singapore PDPC, ASEAN MCCs, Japan PPC, and considerations for cross-border data transfers.
β’ Oversee the entire contract lifecycle from the initial request through negotiation, internal approvals, execution, and ongoing compliance responsibilities.
β’ Discover opportunities to optimize and enhance contracting workflows, templates, and legal procedures as the company continues its global expansion.
β’ Assist in the establishment of regional entities and fulfill ongoing corporate compliance requirements in Singapore and the wider APJ region.
β’ Work collaboratively with global legal and business teams to maintain consistency in commercial practices and risk management across different regions.
β’ 4β8 years of hands-on transactional legal experience within an in-house setting, involving direct interaction with customers, vendors, partners, and senior internal stakeholders.
β’ Over 4 years of experience negotiating SaaS agreements, amendments, and order forms with enterprise clients on the sell-side.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of the complete commercial contracting process.
β’ Familiarity with APJ privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
β’ Outstanding organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
β’ Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
β’ Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
β’ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
β’ Team-oriented approach with sound judgment regarding escalation and cross-functional collaboration.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
β’ Proficiency in the Japanese language is highly preferred.
β’ Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in Singapore.
β’ Applicants must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents to assist with entity creation and ongoing compliance obligations.
