Commercial Counsel – APAC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Prepare, assess, and negotiate commercial contracts, primarily concentrating on GTM/Sales deals in the APAC region, including agreements with enterprise clients.

• Collaborate with sales, business development, and operations teams to develop and execute strategies that enhance high-growth go-to-market efforts.

• Stay updated on and analyze changing legal and regulatory landscapes specific to the region, including frameworks related to data protection, technology, and AI, applying this understanding to contract formulation and risk evaluation.

• Create, update, and customize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to align with regional demands and industry standards.

• Deliver clear, pragmatic, and commercially minded legal counsel to cross-functional teams, tailoring advice to facilitate responsible growth and innovation.

• Play a role in enhancing the Legal Team’s commercial capabilities, promoting a collaborative and solutions-driven team environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and eligibility to practice law in a relevant APAC jurisdiction.

• Over 7 years of pertinent post-qualification legal experience, with a preference for in-house experience in technology or SaaS sectors.

• Established history of drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology contracts.

• Strong understanding of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property issues.

• Experience providing advice on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer matters.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced settings with changing priorities and stringent deadlines.
