Commercial Account Manager – Small Business

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Handles applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests, and other client servicing items during non-renewal periods.

• Provides assistance to clients regarding policy coverage, exclusions, and related inquiries while supporting Producers in client servicing.

• Manages client accounts under the supervision of Producers or Account Executives, which includes conducting research and addressing client inquiries about coverage and other policy-related issues. Makes routine adjustments to policies.

• Oversees the renewal process with guidance from Producers or Account Executives, involving exposure analysis for clients (such as reviewing census/experience data and contractual insurance requirements), strategizing with the Producer/Account Executive and the client on marketing decisions, performing market comparisons by analyzing insurance rates and renewal data, obtaining and assessing quotes, negotiating premiums and commission rates on behalf of clients for optimal alternatives (with full authority from EPIC), preparing proposals, and ensuring the accuracy of insurance binders.

• Supports Producers and, if necessary, Account Executives by preparing presentations and proposals, and participating in meetings with potential clients as part of the team.

• Keeps client files organized in the appropriate systems, prepares billing, and provides standard office and administrative support.

• Consistently builds and maintains high levels of trust and confidence with clients by initiating introductions, maintaining periodic contact, and promptly addressing and resolving client inquiries and issues.

• Processes all applications, policies, endorsements, incoming mail, binders, schedules, certificates, audits, and other items related to client policies in a timely and accurate manner.

• Educates clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusions, and their insurance coverage needs.

• Aids clients in making coverage modifications.

• Ensures timely and accurate invoicing and manages monthly expirations.

• Meets all quality and timeliness standards in the Agency Management System while accurately documenting all activities.

• Additional duties may be assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in a mid-sized brokerage or carrier is required.

• Proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software, is essential.

• Must be capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.

• A high level of interpersonal skills is necessary to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The position requires continuous teamwork, poise, tact, and diplomacy.
