Commercial Account Manager – Small Business

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Become a part of our Small Business Account Management team, dedicated to delivering exceptional account service to our small business clients!

• During non-renewal periods, handle applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests, and other service-related items for clients.

• Provide assistance to clients regarding policy coverage, exclusions, and related inquiries, and support Producers in client servicing.

• Manage client accounts under the supervision of Producers or Account Executives, which includes conducting research/analysis and addressing client inquiries about coverage and other policy or contractual matters. Make routine policy modifications.

• Execute the renewal process with guidance from Producers or Account Executives, including exposure analysis for clients (e.g., reviewing census/experience data, contractual insurance requirements), collaborating with the Producer/Account Executive and client on marketing decisions, and, if necessary, conducting market comparisons by analyzing insurance rates and renewal data, obtaining and assessing quotes, negotiating premiums and commission rates on behalf of clients (with full authority from EPIC), preparing proposals, and ensuring the accuracy of insurance binders.

• Support Producers and, if applicable, Account Executives by preparing presentations and proposals and participating in meetings with prospective clients as part of the team.

• Keep client files updated in relevant systems, prepare billing, and provide standard office/administrative support.

• Consistently build and maintain high levels of trust and confidence with clients through introductions, regular communications, and prompt responses to client inquiries and issues.

• Process all applications, policies, endorsements, incoming mail, binders, schedules, certificates, audits, and other items related to client policy servicing promptly and accurately.

• Educate and inform clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusions, and insurance needs.

• Assist clients in making necessary coverage adjustments.

• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and manage monthly expirations.

• Adhere to all quality and timeliness standards in the Agency Management System while thoroughly documenting all activities.

• Additional duties may be assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in a mid-size brokerage or insurance carrier is necessary.

• Proficiency in a range of Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software, is essential.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple competing tasks and demands.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to handle sensitive and confidential matters. The role necessitates teamwork, poise, tact, and diplomacy at all times.
