Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a designated accounts receivable portfolio and follow up on outstanding balances through phone and email communications.

• Examine and resolve billing issues, including discrepancies, deductions, short payments, unapplied cash, unidentified remittances, and payment allocation challenges.

• Work collaboratively with Cash Applications, Sales, Billing, and other Order-to-Cash teams to address payment delays.

• Negotiate payment arrangements in accordance with company credit and collections policies, escalating exceptions to management when necessary.

• Recognize and escalate high-risk credit issues and overdue accounts to management or third-party collections agencies.

• Conduct customer account reconciliations and investigate account variances.

• Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive customer and financial data.

• Document collection activities and maintain accurate records of account communications.

• Provide necessary documentation and assistance for both internal and external financial audits.

• Contribute to cash flow and working capital objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• 2–3 years of experience in accounts receivable, B2B collections, cash applications, and/or the Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle.

• Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace.

• Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems and Order-to-Cash software platforms.

• Excellent organizational abilities and a keen attention to detail.

• Capability to meet deadlines and achieve monthly targets.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating financial information, identifying discrepancies, and proposing solutions.

• Ability to maintain precise collection notes, customer communications, and account documentation.

• A customer service-oriented mindset.
