This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Investigate overdue account balances that are either partially or completely unpaid.
• Contact insurance providers or customers via mail and/or phone regarding outstanding payments.
• Analyze unpaid and underpaid claims.
• Resubmit or appeal claims as needed.
• Confirm payment information adjustments with the supervisor.
• Organize collection efforts for delinquent accounts by preparing documentation for external collection agencies or legal representatives.
• Adhere to the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act (FDCPA).
• Address customer inquiries concerning account status.
• Conduct thorough research and accurately document customer accounts.
• Resolve discrepancies and prepare necessary adjustments and refunds.
• Precisely enter collection activity data into the billing system.
• Escalate recurring issues to the department supervisor.
• Initiate payments and resubmit invoices as necessary.
• Pursue patient payment obligations when insurance defaults, as permitted by law or contractual agreements.
• Report punctually at the designated starting time and maintain reliable, consistent attendance.
• Carry out other duties as required.
• High school diploma is mandatory.
• At least one year of relevant experience is required.
• Basic proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Proficient in English reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Fundamental mathematical skills.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and generate spreadsheet data.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Good business acumen.
