Collections Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +16 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversees both incoming and outgoing calls and communications related to small business accounts.

• Identifies causes of delinquency and sets up payment plans to resolve account issues.

• Develops and maintains a positive relationship with consistently delinquent small business cardholders.

• Educates cardholders tactfully while providing sustainable solutions to delinquency.

• Utilizes problem-solving skills to address cardholder objections effectively.

• Negotiates appropriate payment arrangements while emphasizing urgency and necessary follow-up.

• Aids in the collection process for late-stage consumer delinquencies as required.

• Conducts monthly reconciliations on invoices provided by external collection or recovery agencies.

• Collaborates with the AVP of Collections to continually enhance performance monitoring tools used for the small business card portfolio.

• Complies with Collection Policies and adheres to established procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college education is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a general business environment with a focus on customer service and collections.

• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service through effective professional communication skills.

• Strong understanding of and experience within the financial services industry is highly preferred.

• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook at an intermediate level.

• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail; possesses effective interpersonal skills; ensures timely completion of all tasks.
