Coding Analyst, Part Time – Day Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Assign the correct ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various outpatient visit types.

• Allocate Evaluation and Management codes for physician interactions.

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of medical records and related documentation.

• Code diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services accurately.

• Work collaboratively with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and other clinical departments.

• Interpret health record documentation to accurately report diagnoses and procedures.

• Address NCCI, NCD/LCD, and other outpatient claim edit failures.

• Achieve set coding productivity and quality benchmarks.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must reside in IL, IN, IA, WI, OH, MO, MI, or FL.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute healthcare environment is required.

• Certification in RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC is mandatory.

• Membership in AHIMA or AAPC is necessary.

• Part-time work schedule of 20 hours per week.

• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding is essential.

• Familiarity with HCPC Level I and II procedural codes is required.

• Understanding of NCD/LCD and NCCI edits is expected.

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology is important.

• Awareness of ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, Coding Clinic, Coding Clinic for HCPCs, CPT Assistant, coding conventions, and instructional notes is necessary.

• A minimum coding accuracy of 95% is required.

• Preferred: RHIA/RHIT with CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC certification.

• Preferred: 4 years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.

• Preferred: 4 years of experience in a professional environment.
