Coder II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Code intricate surgical procedures spanning various specialties at ProMedica.

• Interpret operative notes and procedural documentation accurately.

• Code provider office and hospital charges for departments supported by professional billing services.

• Code complex surgical services, procedures, as well as evaluation and management services.

• Ensure adherence to official coding guidelines and payor standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Must successfully pass the internal coding examination.

• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in physician/professional complex surgical and E&M coding within a healthcare system or medical office environment.

• Experience in complex surgical coding, including OB/Gyn, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, Cardiothoracic, Urology, ENT, Plastic Surgery, and General Surgery.

• Certification as CPC, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA is mandatory.

• Preferably possess knowledge of the professional billing revenue cycle process.

• Familiarity with Epic and other coding applications is preferred.
