Cloud Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and execute cloud solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure services for computing, container orchestration, and managed databases.

• Develop reference architectures and best practices aimed at scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure.

• Lead architecture assessments and offer technical guidance to development teams.

• Create and uphold infrastructure as code.

• Ensure that the cloud infrastructure design complies with SOC requirements.

• Implement best practices for cloud security, encompassing identity and access management, role-based access control, and network segmentation.

• Act as the main technical contact for third-party compliance auditors.

• Assist in audits, evidence collection, and remediation efforts.

• Maintain documentation necessary for SOC audits.

• Manage security-relevant configurations and controls for cloud infrastructure.

• Monitor resource utilization of virtual machines and address any capacity or performance issues.

• Apply operating system and security patches to virtual machines.

• Conduct routine platform maintenance across cloud environments.

• Monitor system logs and alerts, troubleshooting infrastructure issues as they arise.

• Respond to and resolve incidents related to infrastructure, documenting root causes and remediation steps.

• Design systems for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across cloud regions.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using observability tools.

• Optimize cloud costs through right-sizing, reserved capacity, and governance policies.

• Support incident response for cloud infrastructure.

• Collaborate with engineering and leadership to ensure cloud strategy aligns with business objectives.

• Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external compliance auditors.

• Mentor engineers on best practices in cloud architecture.

• Convey technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms.

• Strong understanding of SOC requirements and experience in supporting compliance audits with external auditors.

• Proficient in cloud networking and systems administration.

• Experience with virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, and server configuration and maintenance.

• Hands-on experience with identity management and security services.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Strong understanding of encryption, key management, and secure data handling.

• Ability to independently make security-related decisions.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

• Cloud architecture or security certifications from major cloud providers are preferred.

• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or GDPR is preferred.

• Experience with container orchestration platforms is preferred.

• Must be able to provide documentation authorizing legal work in the United States of America.
