Cloud Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Data Product Management, and Data Science teams to fulfill data requirements for various initiatives at Hyatt.

• Participate in the development of the Hyatt Enterprise Data Platform.

• Design and implement new analytical solutions to support internal clients.

• Develop innovative solutions to foster advancements.

• Suggest tools and capabilities based on an analysis of the current environment and knowledge of on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources.

• Partner with engineering, architecture, and migration teams to shape strategy and design architecture.

• Create prototypes using diverse techniques and cutting-edge technologies.

• Expand skill sets into areas such as automation, scripting, and containerization while building essential systems for numerous internal clients.

• Take the lead in designing and implementing data solutions for data migration, data delivery, and ML pipelines.

• Construct a resilient, reliable, high-performance, and secure Data Platform and Applications.

• Work in close coordination with application development and data engineering teams on daily tasks, project planning, and implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in application/platform engineering or related technical fields, including business intelligence and analytics.

• More than 6 years of experience with AWS as a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, focusing on management, maintenance, or architecting while implementing best practices and industry standards.

• In-depth knowledge and proven experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Kinesis, Data Pipelines, EMR, Step Functions, VPC, IAM, and Security Groups.

• Proficiency in database technologies including SQL, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, MongoDB, and Redis.

• Experience with GCP and AI/Gemini models.

• Strong background in GCP provision throughput and LLM model support.

• Familiarity with the latest AI trends and hands-on experience with LLM model support and CI/CD.

• Solid understanding of serverless cloud solutions (AWS…S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Event Bridge).

• Experience with cloud database services like RDS, DynamoDB, and Document DB.

• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS/ECS/Fargate.

• Familiarity with cloud build and deployment tools, including Serverless, AWS SAM, and GitLab.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaaC) and cloud deployment languages such as Serverless, CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform.

• Exposure to AI/LLM platforms and modern AI frameworks.

• Experience in integrating AI workloads with cloud data platforms.

• Familiarity with GCP AI services and Gemini models is an advantage.

• Basic understanding of cloud services and infrastructure including VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, IAM, and CloudWatch.

• Experience designing event-driven and service-oriented solution architectures.

• Proficiency with CI/CD tools, pipelines, and automation scripting (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline tools, CloudFormation, and Terraform).

• Extensive knowledge in IAM Roles and Policies.

• Strong expertise in configuring AWS cloud monitoring and alerts for resource availability.

• Proficient scripting skills using PowerShell and/or Python.

• Strong technical ability to work independently without requiring assistance from other team members.

• Lead projects from end to end, including architecture, solutioning, cyber and security reviews, and implementation.

• High level of knowledge regarding PaaS and SaaS application performance, along with an understanding of enterprise-level application architecture diagrams and IT security requirements.
