Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance Kubernetes clusters in GKE utilizing Terraform

• Ensure adherence to SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials standards in cloud environments

• Develop and implement golden paths and automation strategies that facilitate developer self-service and minimize operational complexity

• Design and sustain infrastructure solutions that empower development teams to build and deploy securely, conveniently, and efficiently

• Act as the technical point of contact for inquiries related to GCP and Kubernetes

• Engage in a rotating on-call schedule

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in administering and optimizing large-scale Kubernetes clusters

• Proficient with Kubernetes tools, including Helm and kustomize

• Strong background in GitOps tools and methodologies, such as ArgoCD

• Demonstrated experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture

• In-depth understanding of GKE and Kubernetes, encompassing the maintenance and optimization of production clusters

• Extensive experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation

• Solid programming abilities in Python and/or TypeScript

• Experience in creating documentation and self-service solutions aimed at developers

• Strong customer empathy with a focus on supporting internal teams

• Familiarity with AWS and CDK is advantageous

• Experience in implementing or maintaining cloud compliance standards like SOC2 and ISO-27001 is a plus

• Knowledge of observability tools like Datadog is beneficial

• Background in applying security best practices within cloud infrastructure is a plus
