Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Manage and provision product infrastructure throughout the entire product life-cycle, from development to production.

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based architectures and systems utilizing Infrastructure as Code.

• Establish logging, telemetry, and alert systems to effectively monitor application performance and production environments.

• Safeguard infrastructure and data by implementing access controls, managing secrets, and enforcing network security protocols.

• Automate deployment processes and operational tasks.

• Create scripts and playbooks for incident recovery procedures.

• Work collaboratively with the platform team, product engineers, and algorithm developers.

• Deliver robust and well-documented infrastructure to facilitate product deployment.

• Advise on industry best practices regarding design, testing, security, and operational procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A background in Software Engineering, IT Administration, Cybersecurity Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Proficient in configuring resources with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, either manually or through Infrastructure as Code.

• Familiarity with Linux administration and scripting.

• Understanding of the OSI network stack.

• Ability to collaborate within a team, make architectural decisions collectively, and engage in constructive feedback.

• Proficiency in an Infrastructure as Code language or framework, including Terraform, CloudFormation, Serverless Framework, or Pulumi.

• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.

• Experience or interest in DevOps practices and CI/CD methodologies.

• Skills in Bash and/or Python programming.

• A practical approach to prototyping: focus on building the optimal path first, then refine to cover additional use cases.

• Preference for clarity and understandability over complexity.

• AWS certification in Cloud Computing, Security, DevOps, Development, or Networking is a plus.

• Prior work experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.

• Familiarity with standards and frameworks such as SOC2, ISO 62304, HIPAA, ISO 13485, HITRUST, or MDR is beneficial.

• Junior to mid-level experience is required.

• Interest in developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and secure production systems.

• Understanding of cybersecurity and compliance issues in the healthcare sector.
