Cloud Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee, monitor, and provide support for enterprise production infrastructure environments to guarantee optimal uptime and performance.

• Manage AWS cloud resources and services, ensuring security, scalability, and operational excellence.

• Support infrastructure platforms and applications of medium to high complexity across both cloud and datacenter settings.

• Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve operational issues in accordance with established processes and SLAs.

• Analyze operational metrics and improve infrastructure performance through continuous enhancement initiatives.

• Administer DNS, FTP, IIS, application environments, Active Directory, and identity management solutions.

• Participate in on-call rotations and relay critical events to stakeholders, operational teams, and leadership.

• Assist with physical datacenter operations, including hardware installation, cabling, racking, maintenance, and infrastructure upgrades.

• Manage user accounts and permissions utilizing AWS IAM and other identity management platforms.

• Execute server updates, capacity planning, operating system patching, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in supporting large-scale production infrastructure environments.

• More than 3 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server administration in enterprise production settings.

• At least 3 years of experience in configuring and supporting server hardware and operating systems.

• Experience thriving in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and timelines.

• Strong expertise in Active Directory, Windows Domains, DNS, and enterprise infrastructure services.

• Experience with patching and maintaining Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Intermediate Linux administration skills and practical operational experience.

• Familiar with following change management protocols and operational governance standards.

• Experience in regulated compliance environments such as PCI-DSS or Cyber Essentials.

• Knowledge of AWS EKS and ECS container platforms.

• Practical experience with infrastructure automation tools like Chef, Ansible, or Puppet.

• Experience managing SAN and NAS storage environments.

• Familiarity with Okta identity and access management solutions.

• Experience in supporting hardware lifecycle management and coordinating vendor activities.

• Familiarity with managing Cisco UCS environments.

• Strong experience in AWS monitoring and infrastructure management.

• Proficient with PowerShell and other scripting languages for automation and operational efficiency.
