Cloud Operations DBA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL on virtual machines, as well as in AWS RDS/Aurora and OCI managed databases.

• Engage with various cloud service providers, including AWS, OCI, and Azure.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance your understanding, facilitate experimentation, and devise solutions for a variety of challenges and scenarios.

• Work with cutting-edge technologies that monitor, update, and alert on our expansive and diverse infrastructure.

• Develop and oversee database processes.

• Ensure reliable database backups are maintained.

• Offer database support for company initiatives.

• Assist development teams and collaborate with peer groups.

• Conduct performance tuning investigations and provide expertise and recommendations.

• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other documentation.

• Define the future direction for database architectures.

• Manage and work with Very Large databases exceeding 15+ TB.

• Review and oversee user sessions, storage, processes, schemas, and more.

• Develop and utilize dashboards for alerts, storage trends, query execution times, and other metrics.

• Handle data loading and unloading as required.

• Apply patches to database systems manually, using scripts, and with enterprise tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

• Over 5 years of experience as a DBA with various versions of Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle databases.

• Willingness to accommodate after-hours and weekend requests from clients and team members.

• Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation is expected.
