Cloud Infrastructure Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee AWS infrastructure within multi-account, multi-environment landing zones.

• Install, configure, deploy, and sustain servers, software, and related platforms.

• Monitor system performance and resolve issues as they arise.

• Administer access controls, backups, firewalls, and compliance activities.

• Collaborate within a SAFe Agile delivery framework alongside application, data, and security teams.

• Provide support for IaaS, IaC, networks, and firewalls.

• Execute upgrades and IAVA patching while ensuring adherence to STIG compliance.

• Conduct proactive monitoring of performance and availability.

• Investigate and remedy system outages and technical problems.

• Oversee AWS cloud resources to meet program and mission objectives.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, system manuals, and IT policies.

• Contribute to disaster recovery planning across multiple regions, backup automation, failover design, and resilience engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

• 5 years of relevant technical experience.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Security+, AWS, or another comparable IT certification.

• Experience in a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or a similar technical position.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Practical experience with servers, LAN/WAN networks, cloud environments, and patch management.

• Capability to comprehend, document, and clarify technical solution requirements.

• Ability to work autonomously with little supervision.

• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Experience in production Kubernetes/EKS, including Docker/containerized workloads and image creation.

• Familiarity with Active Directory and identity federation integration.

• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, and automation pipelines.

• Experience with STIG compliance and security patching.

• Working knowledge of AWS-hosted environments and cloud-native services.

• Scripting experience in Shell, Perl, or PowerShell.

• Strong understanding of Terraform and basic knowledge of Ansible.

• Exposure to Splunk or CloudWatch.

• Willingness to travel to Scott Air Force Base on a quarterly basis.
