Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Create and execute cloud architecture strategies that align with organizational objectives.

• Automate the provisioning of infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

• Monitor cloud systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

• Oversee cloud expenditures and enhance resource utilization.

• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate application deployment.

• Work collaboratively with development, DevOps, and security teams.

• Ensure adherence to security policies and industry regulations.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure.

• Keep documentation up to date for cloud architecture and associated processes.

• Assess and suggest new cloud technologies and services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or 4 years of equivalent experience in place of a degree.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship.

• Practical experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Strong expertise in cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of networking principles: VPC, DNS, load balancing, firewalls.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi.

• Awareness of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.

• Comprehension of security best practices within cloud environments.

• Knowledge of database services including RDS, DynamoDB, and Cloud SQL.
