Cloud Infra Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Enhance, secure, and expand the current Terraform and Terragrunt Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) framework.

• Broaden and standardize the Terraform module library throughout the Azure environment.

• Implement secure defaults, naming/tagging conventions, and policy guardrails.

• Set up IaC quality benchmarks using TFLint, policy-as-code, linting, validation, testing, and pre-merge evaluations.

• Develop and manage an AI-supported self-service platform utilizing an IaC MCP server along with agent skills and context.

• Facilitate Claude Code and GitHub Copilot users in querying approved modules and generating compliant infrastructure.

• Integrate IaC deployment pipelines with ServiceNow for managing change requests, approvals, and CMDB updates.

• Create self-service workflows, scaffolding, and optimal paths via Port.io and other developer-portal tools.

• Construct and uphold CI/CD and GitOps infrastructure pipelines.

• Write and sustain automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, and Bash.

• Oversee Microsoft Entra ID identity, access, authentication, RBAC, and least-privilege configurations.

• Collaborate with development teams to eliminate provisioning bottlenecks and enhance self-service capabilities.

• Support the growth and mentorship of the platform team.

• Ensure that infrastructure and automation are secure, dependable, and compliant.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and Terragrunt for Infrastructure-as-Code, including reusable modules and large-scale infrastructure.

• Practical experience with TFLint, linting, validation, automated testing, and standards enforcement.

• Extensive Azure knowledge across IaaS and PaaS services.

• Proven experience in designing standardized, reusable Terraform module libraries and established IaC patterns.

• Strong scripting and automation capabilities in PowerShell, Python, and Bash.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitOps processes for infrastructure delivery.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity, access, authentication, and RBAC.

• Ability to construct secure, scalable, and resilient automation solutions.

• Preferred experience with MCP servers or providing tools/data to AI coding assistants.

• Background in Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development workflows is preferred.

• Experience with Port.io or other Internal Developer Portals is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms is preferred.

• Experience with policy-as-code and IaC security scanning is a plus.

• Background in infrastructure testing is preferred.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes/AKS, Ansible, monitoring, observability, and incident response is preferred.

• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills are preferred.

• Preferred certifications include HashiCorp Terraform, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft DevOps Engineer, CKA, or other relevant certifications.
