Cloud FinOps Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in FinOps implementation initiatives and oversee successful ongoing customer relationships.

• Advise clients on optimizing cloud usage by leveraging financial and technical knowledge.

• Uphold FinOps Practitioner certification and stay updated on current and emerging FinOps frameworks and best practices.

• Possess knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, Microsoft CSP, and Google Workspace offerings, along with associated savings opportunities.

• Align Trace3's FinOps solutions with industry standards and best practices while collaborating across functions.

• Onboard cloud clients to cost management systems and establish recurring billing in accordance with contracts.

• Address customer billing and account inquiries within agreed contractual SLAs.

• Conduct FinOps consulting engagements and ensure timely delivery of documentation and materials.

• Transition consulting projects into ongoing cloud governance services.

• Cultivate relationships with client stakeholders and decision-makers.

• Design and establish cloud FinOps reporting frameworks that align with tagging and naming conventions.

• Examine cloud cost and usage data to pinpoint optimization opportunities and report findings.

• Generate FinOps activity reports and facilitate monthly/quarterly business reviews.

• Lead and deliver presentations to client executives, both in-person and virtually.

• Enhance Trace3's FinOps service offerings and operations through research, documentation, and implementation.

• Assess cloud provider and third-party tools to optimize and automate internal workflows.

• Create new FinOps consulting services and assist in pre-sales efforts.

• Standardize procedures and materials for both existing and new offerings.

• Analyze processes for scalability and engage in departmental planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.

• At least three years of experience in cloud billing, sales support, operations, managed services, or finance.

• Experience in onboarding clients to cloud billing, cost management, or FinOps tools.

• Proven experience in leading presentations for clients.

• Ability to design and develop FinOps reporting frameworks that meet business and technical specifications.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability to effectively engage with customer business, finance, and technical teams.

• Proficiency in managing and prioritizing multiple projects and related tasks efficiently.

• Cloud FinOps Practitioner certification.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 offerings and licensing options.

• Understanding of Google Workspaces (formerly GSuite).

• Basic knowledge of cloud concepts for AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

• Knowledge and experience with FinOps principles and strategies.
