Cloud Engineer – Azure, M365, Windows Server

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Maintain and develop hybrid environments that integrate Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and on-premises platforms.

• Manage Windows Server environments deployed across VMware and Azure.

• Oversee Azure IaaS, which includes virtual machines, networking, storage, backup, and monitoring.

• Administer Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory environments.

• Provide support for Microsoft 365 and Exchange, DNS, Dynamics infrastructure, and other general platform services.

• Engage in incident and change management processes.

• Conduct root-cause analysis.

• Contribute to changes approved by the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

• Continuously enhance infrastructure through automation.

• Utilize PowerShell, Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines to automate repetitive tasks and facilitate infrastructure provisioning.

• Offer support for a smaller Google Cloud Platform (GCP) footprint when necessary.

• Collaborate with both infrastructure and business stakeholders.

• Assist in business-as-usual operations and new technology initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in administering Windows Server environments, covering configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and health monitoring.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS, including virtual machines, networking, storage, backup, and monitoring.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory environments, focusing on identity lifecycle, synchronization, and access management.

• Administration and support experience with Microsoft 365, particularly Exchange.

• Strong understanding of DNS and general enterprise infrastructure services.

• Experience with ITSM processes, encompassing incidents, service requests, changes, and CAB governance.

• Proficiency in using Azure DevOps boards or similar tools for managing technical tasks.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Effective communication skills for interaction with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Capacity to work independently across both on-premises and cloud environments.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Availability to work UK hours from Portugal, as per an agreed schedule.

• Previous experience with VMware environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure as code is preferred.

• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and DevOps practices is preferred.

• Background in automating infrastructure operations using PowerShell is preferred.

• Previous exposure to Dynamics infrastructure support is preferred.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform is preferred.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, MS-102, or AZ-400 are preferred.

• Experience applying reliability engineering, automation-first, and least-privilege principles in enterprise environments is preferred.
