Cloud Cybersecurity Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight in the realm of cybersecurity for cloud-based enterprise systems and applications.

• Oversee multidisciplinary teams focused on cybersecurity, including monitoring, incident response, vulnerability remediation, compliance, and audit readiness.

• Formulate and execute strategies, policies, standards, and best practices for cloud cybersecurity.

• Supervise decisions regarding security architecture, ensuring alignment with Zero Trust principles, cloud security controls, and secure configuration baselines.

• Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and ongoing monitoring within cloud environments.

• Collaborate with cloud engineers, DevSecOps teams, and platform operations personnel to facilitate secure deployments and manage change controls.

• Oversee vulnerability assessments, address penetration findings, develop patching plans, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

• Ensure adherence to DoD cybersecurity frameworks, NIST guidelines, RMF processes, and cloud security directives.

• Lead efforts during cyber incidents, including triage, containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reporting.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of cybersecurity controls, system security artifacts, audit responses, and governance materials.

• Present cybersecurity metrics, risk summaries, compliance updates, and recommendations to senior government stakeholders.

• Manage access control models, identity integration, privileged access management, and continuous authentication practices.

• Foster continuous improvement initiatives for cloud cyber operations, enhance monitoring capabilities, and automate security processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• An active Top Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 5 background investigation, is mandatory.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required.

• At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity or cloud security engineering is necessary.

• A minimum of 8 years managing cybersecurity projects of similar size, scope, and complexity is essential.

• Experience in managing cybersecurity operations, risk management, monitoring programs, or security architecture for federal or DoD systems is required.

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary cybersecurity teams, including analysts, engineers, and incident responders is needed.

• Familiarity with cloud security governance, secure configuration management, and continuous monitoring is expected.

• A solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, such as NIST 800-53, RMF, and DoD cloud security standards is crucial.

• Knowledge of cloud security controls across environments like AWS, Azure, or similar platforms is required.

• Experience in threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management is essential.

• Understanding of identity and access management, privileged access controls, and authentication methodologies is necessary.

• Familiarity with SIEM platforms, log analysis tools, and continuous monitoring systems is advantageous.

• One or more certifications are required: CISM, CISSO, FITSP-M, GCSA, GCIH, GSLC, CISSP, or CISSP-ISSMP.

• Strong leadership and communication abilities are needed to guide cybersecurity teams and engage with senior stakeholders.

• Capability to define cybersecurity strategy and translate it into actionable operational execution is essential.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing threats, risks, and overall cyber posture are required.

• Ability to manage multiple cybersecurity initiatives simultaneously under mission-driven deadlines is necessary.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to compliance, documentation, and operational excellence are expected.
