This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Convert essential clinical concepts and insights from subject matter experts into well-structured, engaging educational and instructional materials.
• Create, revise, and enhance modular training resources, such as facilitator guides, participant workbooks, handouts, breakout scenarios, homework assignments, slide-deck notes, video scripts, and teleprompter text.
• Work collaboratively with NCPTSD subject matter experts, instructional designers, instructional systems designers, graphic artists, and video production teams.
• Ensure written content is aligned with visual, audiovisual, and web-based formats, including integrations with TMS and TRAIN LMS.
• Engage in iterative review processes with government subject matter experts and project stakeholders.
• Produce high-quality training resources for VA, Vet Center, and community mental health service providers.
• A Master’s Degree in a relevant area, such as Clinical Psychology, Nursing, Public Health, Medical Communications, English, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of direct experience in medical, clinical, or health-related technical writing and editing.
• A proven ability to translate intricate clinical topics into accessible educational content for healthcare professionals.
• Understanding of clinical assessment tools, diagnostic criteria such as DSM-5 and CAPS-5, or concepts related to behavioral health/PTSD.
• Strong command of adult learning principles in written instructional materials.
• Proficient in standard document formatting and adherence to style guides.
• Competence in preparing documents in both PDF and editable Microsoft Word formats.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards for digital documents.
• Prior experience in writing or editing training materials for federal health agencies, specifically the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Defense.
• Experience in drafting scripts or teleprompter text for educational video segments.
• Familiarity with SCORM-compliant learning management systems, including VA Talent Management System (TMS) and TRAIN.
• Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
