This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist office personnel, physicians, and management with clinical, clerical, and organizational patient care responsibilities.
• Coordinate patient appointments, including procedures, follow-up visits, ancillary services, and endoscopy procedures.
• Schedule and acquire laboratory or radiology results and relay them to physicians and patients with the provider's consent.
• Gather precise patient information and oversee physician and endoscopy center scheduling.
• Address, resolve, or escalate Patient Portal inquiries and patient-related concerns.
• Manage and prioritize incoming phone calls and assigned tasks with minimal patient transfers.
• Fulfill patient requests related to test results, prescription refills, and general healthcare inquiries.
• Prepare prescription refill requests for physician validation.
• Provide guidance to patients or their families regarding medical treatments or procedures as necessary.
• Respond to emails and voicemails and return patient calls in a timely manner.
• Complete information requests from staff and facilitate timely resolution of patient account payment issues.
• Uphold HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
• Participate in staff meetings and marketing initiatives as directed.
• Cross-train and engage in phone triage, scheduling, pre-certification, document filing, referrals, and medical records management.
• Address assigned encounters or tasks within 24–48 hours.
• Stay available in the call queue.
• Maintain a minimum monitoring score of 90%.
• Carry out other assigned duties and special projects.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• 2–3 years of experience in a specialty clinical setting is required.
• Experience in gastroenterology is preferred.
• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer skills.
• Ability to utilize healthcare systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications.
• Capability to interact with patients, visitors, coworkers, and physicians with courtesy and respect.
• Professional, approachable, warm, and supportive demeanor.
• Empathy for assisting individuals in need of medical help.
• Skill in planning, prioritizing, and executing multiple delegated tasks.
• Capacity to thrive under pressure and assess, respond to, and communicate issues promptly.
• Clear communication with patients and colleagues via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
• Ability to interpret and apply clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures.
• Capability to sit and stand in a standard office environment.
• Willingness to travel as business needs arise.
