Clinical Psychologist – BCBA-D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Act as the lead reviewer for utilization management in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) cases.

• Offer daily support and direction to the ABA prior authorization clinical team as well as health plan medical directors.

• Evaluate cases associated with psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

• Engage in clinical meetings alongside care management and utilization management teams.

• Provide expertise on ABA-related inquiries and member issues.

• Aid in the development of medical management programs and policies focusing on neurodevelopmental disorders.

• Suggest improvements to managed care review guidelines and clinical criteria.

• Support statewide initiatives aimed at assisting members with neurodevelopmental disorders.

• Facilitate educational initiatives for providers specializing in neurodiversity.

• Tackle quality assurance and issues related to fraud, waste, and abuse.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least five (5) years of clinical experience in assessing and treating neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) focused on neurodevelopment and child and adolescent psychology.

• Hands-on experience in the autism sector, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI), or Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI).

• Primary state licensure in Louisiana (LA), with the readiness and capability to acquire additional licensure as necessary.

• Active and unrestricted state license(s) in Louisiana (LA).

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D) credential.

• A minimum of five (5) years of direct patient care experience post-graduation.

• Familiarity with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) coding guidelines and principles.

• Experience in reviewing medical records and determining claim payments in accordance with company, state, federal, and industry standard coding principles and guidelines.
