Clinical Pharmacist – Aetna Medicaid Prior Authorization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Provide support for Medicaid Prior Authorization as a Clinical Pharmacist at Aetna

• Implement evidence-based clinical guidelines and criteria in clinical decision-making

• Leverage formularies and preferred drug lists

• Evaluate medical records and clinical literature

• Draft SOAP notes

• Operate within a high-production team setting

• Adhere to the assigned AZ-time shift, including scheduled Saturday rotations and occasional holidays

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an active and unrestricted AZ or TX pharmacist license in good standing

• Newly hired individuals must secure an additional AZ or TX pharmacist license within 90 days of employment

• Demonstrated experience in clinical decision-making utilizing evidence-based clinical guidelines/criteria

• Familiarity with formularies and preferred drug lists

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacist

• Proven experience in a high-production team environment

• Understanding of clinical program components, formulary designs, and prescription benefit trends

• Preferred experience with Medicaid or Medicare

• Prior authorization experience is preferred

• Experience in reviewing medical records and clinical literature is preferred

• Experience in composing SOAP notes is preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

• Capability to work from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm AZ time following training

• Willingness to complete an 8-week training schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm AZ time

• Availability to work one Saturday every 6 weeks and on occasional holidays
