This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Travel on a weekly basis (~70%) to client locations to assist with laboratory startups and project implementations.
• Act as the technical lead for designated client laboratory initiatives.
• Offer technical guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Assess client laboratory operations, which includes workflow, staffing, testing procedures, equipment, technology, quality systems, documentation, and adherence to regulatory compliance.
• Provide recommendations tailored to client needs and relevant requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, instrument manufacturers, vendors, and other stakeholders on laboratory planning, design, layout, build-out, relocation, and implementation projects.
• Develop and execute clinical laboratory workflows, operational processes, standard operating procedures, policies, and technical documentation.
• Support method development, method verification and validation, instrument validation, correlation studies, specimen stability studies, and other technical assessments.
• Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining compliance with CLIA and other applicable accreditation, licensing, and regulatory standards, including CAP, COLA, and state regulations.
• A Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related clinical laboratory or scientific discipline is required.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations.
• Extensive experience across various testing disciplines.
• A generalist clinical laboratory background is highly preferred.
• Experience in a hospital, health system, physician group, reference laboratory, or similarly complex clinical laboratory environment is essential.
• Previous leadership experience in a laboratory setting is strongly preferred.
• Current or prior professional certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist, such as ASCP or an equivalent, is preferred.
• A Master's degree in a related field is also preferred.
