This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Lead initiatives to ensure the integrity of clinical documentation through roles as a reviewer, educator, and consultant.

• Enhance the quality, completeness, and accuracy of medical record documentation by performing thorough record reviews.

• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of documentation requirements to accurately reflect severity of illness, risk of mortality, quality indicators, and level of services provided.

• Engage with and educate physicians and healthcare team members on the importance of clinical documentation.

• Oversee provider engagement levels.

• Perform concurrent reviews of selected patient health records to assess legibility, clarity, completeness, consistency, and precision.

• Develop compliant clarifications and queries in accordance with Trinity Health's documentation integrity protocols.

• Embed Trinity's Mission, Vision, and Values into everyday behaviors, practices, standards, policies, procedures, and decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing or Health Information Technology (HIT), or an advanced degree in nursing (NP, APN) or Physician Assistant.

• If a college degree is not held, a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an inpatient coder or clinical documentation specialist is required.

• Preferred certifications include: RN, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, or CDIP.

• Experience in critical care, medical, or surgical inpatient nursing as an RN, PA, NP, APN, or inpatient coder is preferred.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills are essential.

• Strong critical-thinking abilities and the capacity to synthesize knowledge are required.

• Skills in prioritization and organization are necessary.

• Proficiency in using standardized desktop and Windows-based computer systems is expected.

• Data entry and typing capabilities of at least 30 words per minute are required.
