Clinical Consulting Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct clinical evaluations and consultations regarding medication requests, prior authorizations, and benefit assessments.

• Assess the suitability, dosing, and safety of therapies in accordance with evidence-based guidelines.

• Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and suggest alternatives when necessary.

• Assist with complex case reviews and appeals by providing precise clinical documentation.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance medication adherence, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

• Train internal teams on formulary management, utilization reviews, and updates to pharmacy policies.

• Ensure that members receive therapies that are both clinically appropriate and cost-effective while balancing patient care with responsible resource management.

⛳️ Requirements

• R.Ph is required; PharmD is preferred.

• Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted pharmacist license in PA, TN, and/or OH.

• Capability to obtain additional state licensure based on business requirements.

• Preferred: Over 1 year of experience in pharmacy (retail, hospital, or managed care).

• Familiarity with formulary management, clinical guidelines, and pharmacy benefit structures is essential.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and consultative abilities.

• Capacity to exercise sound clinical judgment and work autonomously.

• Dedication to evidence-based practice and ongoing education.

• PharmD or higher qualification is required.

• Preferred: 3–5 years of experience in pharmacy or managed care settings.

• Necessary: State Pharmacy License.
