
Client CFO – Restructuring & Turnarounds

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a fractional Client CFO for a focused portfolio of 2–3 clients undergoing restructuring, turnaround, or special circumstances.
• Take ownership of cash management, 13-week cash flow forecasting, and liquidity runway.
• Collaborate with founders, CEOs, boards, and investors.
• Manage relationships with lenders, creditors, landlords, vendors, and investors, including discussions on forbearance and workouts.
• Develop cash flow, scenario, downside, KPI, and early-warning models and dashboards.
• Lead initiatives in cost restructuring, working capital optimization, and margin triage.
• Ensure the integrity of reporting with internal accounting practices.
• Provide advice on out-of-court restructuring, debt renegotiation, bridge financing, and capital management.
• Take ownership of creditor packs and lender presentations, serving as deal-time CFO for recapitalizations, wind-downs, or distressed M&A.
• Assist in preparing board materials and communicating with investors.
• Create frameworks for decision-making related to runway, burn rates, and critical trade-offs.
• Standardize cash flow models, creditor waterfalls, and scenario trackers.
• Utilize Claude and LLMs to enhance efficiency while ensuring rigor.
• Document playbooks for special situations and improve delivery under tight timelines.
• Oversee month-end closing, accounting activities, financial management reports, annual audits, and budgeting processes.
• Prepare and convey cash flow projections and current cash positions to clients.
• Proven finance leadership experience, specifically in restructuring, turnaround, or distressed situations.
• Prior experience as a multi-client or portfolio CFO.
• In-depth knowledge of DTC, retail, omnichannel, and wholesale consumer business models.
• Practical experience in building and utilizing 13-week cash flow models and managing liquidity challenges.
• Experience in negotiating with lenders, creditors, or landlords and assisting in workout or forbearance processes.
• Strong FP&A and modeling expertise, including multi-year three-statement modeling and downside scenario planning.
• Familiarity with QBO and NetSuite.
• Ability to synthesize complex and partial data while confidently communicating difficult truths.
• Experience collaborating directly with executive teams and boards under pressure.
• Capability to manage 2–3 concentrated client relationships at the same time.
• Comfort in a lean, high-performance, distributed team environment.
