Claims Specialist/Senior Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee workers' compensation claims in Kansas and Missouri from beginning to end.

• Assess claim details to determine coverage, compensability, and eligibility for benefits.

• Formulate and implement strategies aimed at achieving prompt and favorable outcomes for claims.

• Set and maintain appropriate reserves for claims.

• Negotiate settlements to facilitate claim resolution.

• Regularly communicate with claimants, insured parties, employers, and various stakeholders.

• Prepare and deliver comprehensive large loss reports to both internal and external audiences.

• Collaborate with defense attorneys regarding litigation strategies and claim resolution.

• Work in partnership with medical case managers, surveillance vendors, and other external resources.

• Ensure adherence to the workers' compensation laws and regulations of Illinois.

• Keep precise and timely documentation of claims.

• Analyze claim trends and exposures to aid in effective decision-making.

• Deliver outstanding service while fostering strong relationships with customers and business partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically, 7-10+ years of experience in adjusting workers' compensation claims in Kansas and Missouri, focusing on complex or high-exposure cases.

• In-depth knowledge of the workers' compensation laws, regulations, and claim practices in Kansas and Missouri.

• Preferred professional designations such as Associate in Claims (AIC).

• Capability to work during Central Time Zone business hours.

• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of internal and external contacts.

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the necessity for current or future sponsorship.
