This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct financial reconciliations on liquidated loans once GSE or Government Mortgage Insured expense claims are settled.
• Spot recovery and bill-back opportunities to reduce losses for Carrington Mortgage Services and its clientele.
• Investigate incurred losses to ascertain responsibility and identify root causes of avoidable losses.
• Relay loss analysis results to external investors and assist with investor rebuttals.
• Keep LoanServ updated and log assigned as well as completed tasks when actions are taken.
• Address and rectify Quality Review findings within 24 hours.
• Supply thorough written justifications for decisioned losses and financial disputes.
• Review and obtain additional support for rebutted responses from external partners and investors.
• Analyze data elements, apply decision rationale, and attach supporting evidence to precise written summaries.
• Execute ad hoc loss analyses.
• Remain updated on GSE and Government Mortgage Insured guidelines, industry standards, and client expectations.
• Complete projects and tasks punctually, renegotiating deadlines before they lapse.
• Enhance processes to cut costs and eliminate unnecessary manual tasks.
• Notify the Team Lead and Supervisor about trends and issues, including claim denials, curtailments, and payment offsets.
• Perform other assigned responsibilities.
• High School diploma is mandatory.
• An Associate/Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• At least two (2) years of mortgage servicing experience in default-related areas such as Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Default MI Claims, Loss Mitigation, and Recovery.
• Previous experience with FHA, VA, USDA, and PMI claims is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Default Servicing processes in areas like Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Conveyance, and Claims.
• Familiarity with state, federal, and agency guidelines and timelines regarding mortgage servicing.
• A solid background in financial and loss analysis.
• Capability to perform financial reconciliations.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Moderate proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail along with strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Outstanding writing skills, encompassing punctuation, grammar, organization, and formatting.
• Ability to substantiate facts and document them accurately.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with staff, management, investors/insurers, and third parties.
• Ability to make decisions that have moderate impacts on the immediate work unit.
• Skill in identifying urgent issues and escalating them as necessary.
