Claims Examiner – Auto, Bodily Injury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Analyze and process intricate bodily injury claims related to auto and commercial transportation by reviewing coverage, conducting investigations, determining liability, and assessing the extent of damages.

• Handle complex auto commercial and personal line claims, including bodily injury, ensuring that claims files are appropriately documented and accurately coded.

• Oversee the litigation process for claims that are litigated.

• Manage vendor coordination, including utilizing independent adjusters to aid in the investigation of claims.

• Report significant claims to excess carrier(s).

• Create and uphold action plans to ensure compliance with state-mandated contact deadlines and to facilitate timely and suitable resolutions of files.

• Recognize and pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities; manage salvage acquisition and disposal.

• Relay claim actions and processing updates to insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers as appropriate.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the organization's quality programs.

• Travel as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in claims management or a comparable combination of education and experience, encompassing a thorough understanding of personal and commercial auto policies, coverages, principles, and regulations.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations, computer literacy with Microsoft Office products, and ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.

• Secure and maintain the required State adjusting licenses for the position.
