This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct thorough investigations into accidents or disasters to identify causes and contributing factors.
• Assess structural or water damage resulting from natural disasters, including earthquakes, hurricanes, wind events, hail storms, and floods.
• Ensure the appropriate maintenance and construction of affected building components and systems.
• Safely access roofs, attics, and crawl spaces to document areas of interest with photographs.
• Identify and interview witnesses as well as other key individuals involved.
• Prepare and submit findings and recommendations that can be utilized to resolve insurance claims or legal matters.
• Active Professional Engineering license(s) is mandatory.
• A degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field is required.
• Proficient in building materials, codes, construction methods, and common failure modes.
• Capability to access roof, attic, and crawl space areas.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Availability to accept assignments and conduct site inspections within 5-7 days.
• Technologically adept across various software platforms, tools, equipment, and investigative techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An analytical mindset paired with strong problem-solving capabilities.
