This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee the planning, development, coordination, and execution of industrial projects.
• Manage engineering design and construction phase services from initial concept to final implementation.
• Cultivate client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout the lifecycle of projects.
• Comprehend client operational objectives and create practical, innovative engineering solutions.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, design standards, and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex challenges.
• Formulate project strategies, scopes, schedules, and fee proposals.
• Assist in business development through client engagement, presentations, project interviews, and proposal creation.
• Guide project decisions and deliver technical leadership.
• Mentor and develop engineering personnel.
• Contribute to the growth of SEH's Industrial practice and enhance regional client partnerships.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or capability to obtain licensure via reciprocity.
• Experience managing engineering projects for industrial, manufacturing, energy, food processing, or other private-sector clients.
• Demonstrated project management expertise, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination.
• Experience in fostering client relationships, preparing proposals, and contributing to business development efforts.
• Ability to identify client needs and convert them into effective engineering solutions.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with subconsultants.
• Strong skills in communication, leadership, and relationship building.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, project coordination, and business development; occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
• Preferably fifteen (15) or more years of progressive engineering experience.
• Experience working with industrial and manufacturing clients in a consulting environment is preferred.
• Experience managing complex facility, site development, infrastructure, or capital improvement projects is preferred.
• Experience in mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership is preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial facility operations, permitting requirements, and construction implementation is preferred.
• Must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
