This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Acts as the acknowledged authority on civil engineering design for nuclear facilities.
• Foresees internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory concerns.
• Suggests enhancements to engineering processes and services.
• Adopts a comprehensive perspective to discover innovative solutions.
• Operates independently, requiring guidance only in the most complex situations.
• Leads functional teams for various projects and may also guide project teams.
• Oversees research efforts and addresses unprecedented technical challenges.
• Advocates for the company's technical work to clients and regulatory bodies.
• Engages in the development and upkeep of organization-wide professional standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Aids management in carrying out project review audits related to specialty disciplines.
• Articulates complex concepts, anticipates potential objections, and influences others effectively.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Over 15 years of experience (the typical candidate has 20-25 years).
• A Professional Engineering (PE) License is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of essential design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities.
• Involvement in relevant national consensus standard/code committees is preferred.
• Proficient in the use of civil/structural design software codes, including ANSYS.
• A Structural Engineering (SE) License is a plus.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
