
Civil Engineer – Mission Critical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Collaborate effectively within the Mission Critical core design team and project stakeholders.
• Create designs for private civil sites, along with construction plans and specifications.
• Generate reports, studies, and construction contract documentation.
• Calculate quantities and prepare cost estimates.
• Conduct field observations and assist in the coordination and management of construction activities.
• Be a proactive partner with exceptional communication skills in a dynamic environment.
• Assess, select, specify, and engineer civil systems or products for various projects.
• Participate in design development utilizing sketches, electronic models, and diagrams.
• Leverage technology to create three-dimensional models of civil systems.
• Prepare and update documentation across various civil phases, including site plans, grading plans, utility plans, and diagrams.
• Facilitate project coordination meetings with team members and consultants.
• Engage in client meetings and perform value analysis.
• Support senior engineers/designers with project scope, budget, staffing, and scheduling.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control for projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of employment.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge and application of the National Civil Code and applicable energy regulations.
• General understanding of all phases of project document production and the interplay between drawings and specifications.
• Strong grasp of civil systems, construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Ability to effectively discuss project-related issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
• Excellent time-management capabilities.
• Thorough understanding of task assignments, schedules, budgeting, and the efficient use of time and resources.
• Ability to review the work of others for accuracy and completeness while managing time to meet project budgets and timelines.
• Capability to participate and collaborate within a project team environment and engage in creative and critical thinking.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to others.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work on and lead teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, and HydroCAD.
