This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Create civil engineering concepts for battery energy storage projects in collaboration with both internal and external planning partners.
• Plan and assess earthworks, foundations, drainage systems, cable routes, and access roads from a technical standpoint.
• Evaluate technical planning documents for feasibility, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Liaise with specialist planners, construction firms, EPC partners, and various project stakeholders.
• Incorporate noise protection, fire safety, and environmental regulations into civil works and infrastructure planning.
• Coordinate technical aspects with both internal departments and external planning and project partners.
• Prepare, coordinate, and review construction documentation.
• Support projects from the planning phase through to construction execution.
• Address technical challenges during the execution and construction stages.
• Manage and coordinate EPC and construction partners throughout the construction phase.
• Supervise construction quality at the site.
• Assist in conducting technical inspections and acceptance procedures.
• Ensure high-quality implementation in line with the established plans.
• Contribute to the energy transition by planning and executing the civil infrastructure for large-scale battery energy storage systems.
• Completed degree in civil engineering, construction engineering and management, infrastructure management, transportation engineering, or a related field.
• Alternatively, a further qualification as a civil engineering technician or master craftsperson, along with relevant practical experience.
• Significant practical experience in the planning, project management, or site management of civil works or infrastructure projects.
• Solid practical knowledge in multiple areas such as earthworks, foundations, concrete construction, drainage, cable routes, or access roads.
• Familiarity with technical drawings as well as planning and construction documentation.
• An independent, structured, and solution-oriented work style.
• Strong technical understanding with the ability to evaluate plans for practical feasibility.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with specialist planners, construction companies, and internal project teams.
• A willingness to take responsibility for technical solutions and ensure their quality.
• A team-oriented and pragmatic approach to work.
• Proficient in German, with a minimum of C1 level proficiency.
• Good command of the English language.
• Willingness to travel within Germany for project-related site visits.
• Possession of a Class B driving license.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software is a plus.
• Knowledge of the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB) or experience working with construction companies and EPC partners is advantageous.
• Experience with battery energy storage projects is not mandatory.
