This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Execute site design and drafting autonomously using Civil 3D software, encompassing grading, layout, and plan set creation.

• Carry out sophisticated grading operations including high-water line grading, mass grading, and stormwater management solutions with an emphasis on cut/fill optimization.

• Develop stormwater management systems such as culverts, basins, and swales while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

• Enhance grading strategies for utility-scale solar projects.

• Spearhead the creation of precise and clear plan sets that meet client and regulatory expectations.

• Conduct quality control and peer reviews of colleagues' work.

• Review and apply redlines effectively.

• Draft engineering reports including SWPPP, stormwater management reports, and Basis of Design documentation.

• Assess site constraints and formulate practical engineering solutions.

• Engage in client meetings and assist with technical discussions alongside project managers.

• Address engineering inquiries and aid in resolving project challenges.

• Collaborate with civil, electrical, and structural design teams.

• Mentor and assist junior engineers.

• Contribute to internal training and team capability enhancement.

• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and timelines.

• Ensure that project documentation is accurate, well-organized, and comprehensive.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• At least 2+ years of experience in civil engineering, site design, and stormwater management.

• Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D, with experience in grading, stormwater design, and site layout.

• Strong grasp of engineering principles including cut/fill balancing, hydrology, and stormwater management.

• Experience with design standards, state and local regulations, and permitting processes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting purposes.

• Familiarity with Bluebeam for quality assurance/control, markups, and redlining.

• Capability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to devise practical design solutions.

• Effective communication skills, capable of clearly presenting technical concepts.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
