Chief Technology Officer

📋 Description

• Contribute to the vision, strategic planning, and leadership of MVB's technology organization.

• Develop and support a multi-year technology modernization roadmap, encompassing core banking and the retirement of legacy systems.

• Ensure infrastructure that offers stability, security, and regulatory compliance for Fintech partners.

• Design systems that prioritize resiliency, maintainability, reusability, minimized complexity, and future functionality.

• Act as a hands-on technical leader in making architecture, technical evaluations, and build/buy/partner decisions.

• Serve as the technical authority for cross-functional features, new products, platform modifications, and significant refactors.

• Guide the technology strategy for MVB's Banking-as-a-Service platform, which includes payments, card issuance, money movement, and embedded finance.

• Facilitate secure onboarding and scaling of Fintech partners.

• Collaborate with Information Security, AI and Data Governance, Risk, and Compliance to uphold security, controls, and regulatory preparedness.

• Support business continuity, disaster recovery, audit readiness, and the resolution of third-party findings.

• Source and assess technology vendors and solutions; negotiate long-term contracts.

• Oversee technology vendor and partner portfolios across core banking, Fintech infrastructure, and enterprise systems.

• Ensure technology vendor projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

• Lead enterprise applications and IT Operations, including core banking, Digital services, Lending, network, server, telephony, and help desk environments.

• Build and cultivate a technology support organization for traditional banking and Fintech operations.

• Effectively communicate technology strategy, risks, and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

• Manage the technology team's budget and strategic priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

• A minimum of 15+ years of relevant technology leadership experience.

• Proven experience leading enterprise-wide technology modernization initiatives, including cloud migration and legacy system transformation.

• Hands-on technical experience directly involved in architecture, security, and platform decision-making.

• Background in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.

• Working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance framework applicable to banking and payments.

• Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to plan, direct, report on, and develop technology staff and teams.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Direct experience with Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), embedded finance, payments, or card issuance platforms.

• Comprehensive understanding of modern information systems technology, including cloud infrastructure, API architecture, cybersecurity practices, and data platforms.

• Candidates must reside in West Virginia, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., New York, New Jersey, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, or South Dakota.

• Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Preferred: Experience supporting Fintech partnerships or a Fintech-oriented technology platform in a regulated setting.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI/ML-driven operational efficiency tools and their application within banking operations.
