Chief Technology Officer, Artificial Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Define the long-term architecture for AI systems, infrastructure, and developer platforms.

• Assess the trade-offs between rapid iteration and sustainable system design.

• Ensure that systems are built for scalability, reliability, and future development.

• Lead decisions regarding model integration, data pipelines, distributed systems, and product architecture.

• Convert product vision into precise technical execution alongside engineers.

• Organize engineering workstreams and synchronize team priorities.

• Uphold high engineering standards while concentrating on timely delivery.

• Foster an engineering culture, development methodologies, and technical benchmarks.

• Build and expand an engineering team across both China and the US.

• Identify technical leaders and create a high-quality engineering organization.

• Set hiring criteria and establish interview procedures.

• Work collaboratively with product, research, and leadership teams.

• Manage technical workflows across diverse teams and geographical locations.

• Address technical and execution challenges that span multiple teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong technical background in system architecture, large-scale systems, and distributed architecture.

• Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is mandatory.

• Ability to think critically about complex systems and make practical technical choices.

• Proven experience in building or leading high-performing engineering teams.

• Strong judgment regarding technical trade-offs and engineering priorities.

• Comfortable working in early-stage settings with significant ambiguity.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to align teams effectively.

• Must be prepared to complete a 60-minute coding assessment.
