CFO – Fractional

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• We are seeking a seasoned CFO to spearhead and take complete ownership of the financial strategy across the privately held technology firms Keen Software House and GoodAI.

• This position is not suitable for someone who prefers to wait for assigned finance tasks or primarily manages and executes work outlined by others. We are in search of a financial leader who takes charge of the financial trajectory, constructs a comprehensive overview of the group, identifies significant issues and opportunities before the CEO needs to intervene, establishes clear priorities, makes informed decisions within the defined scope, and motivates others to achieve results.

• The ideal candidate will serve as a long-term financial partner to founder and CEO Marek Rosa. They will grasp the complete financial, accounting, tax, and funding landscape of the group, propose actionable solutions, and drive critical matters to resolution.

• External accounting firms will manage bookkeeping, filings, payments, and routine administration. As CFO, you will act as a liaison between the CEO and these external providers. You will oversee their work, challenge it when necessary, and ensure that vital matters are addressed accurately and punctually.

• The role is anticipated to require about 30 hours per month once the collaboration is fully established, subject to the situation. A greater level of engagement may be necessary during the initial diagnostic, transition, and handover phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with the Czech accounting, banking, and tax landscape, along with proficiency in Czech or Slovak languages.

• Significant senior experience as a CFO, Group CFO, Finance Director, or in a similar role.

• Proven experience in managing the finances of a multi-entity organization.

• Strong comprehension of management reporting, cash flow, financial planning, and financial controls.

• Practical knowledge of bank financing, loan covenants, refinancing, and lender communications.

• Experience overseeing accounting firms, tax advisors, auditors, and other external partners.

• Capability to identify incomplete or unreliable financial processes and enhance them.

• Strong judgment and the ability to distinguish between significant risks and minor operational details.

• A proven track record of driving complex, cross-functional issues to successful completion.

• Confidence to challenge erroneous information or substandard work.

• Ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly to a non-financial CEO.

• A hands-on approach paired with strategic senior-level thinking.

• Proficiency in professional English.
