Certified Procedural Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Operates under supervision to read and interpret health record documentation, identifying all diagnoses and procedures relevant to outpatient encounter visits.

• Evaluates the adequacy of health record documentation to support the assigned diagnoses and procedures.

• Utilizes knowledge of anatomy and physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and diagnostic and procedural terminology to accurately assign codes.

• Keeps current with ICD-10 and CPT coding classification systems.

• Reviews and executes data charge entries in hospital and physician patient accounting systems for outpatient clinic visits.

• Organizes and prioritizes daily work queues as assigned.

• Undertakes additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Must possess an understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems.

• One of the following certifications is required: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.

• Candidates must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States on their first day of employment.

• Subject to pre-employment screening, which may include a criminal background check, drug testing, and/or education verification.
